The Consumer Electronics Show, or just CES, is the annual trade show where manufacturers display and debut many of their new products they plan to release over the next 12 months. Gaming manufacturers from all over the world bring their latest and greatest releases for the year. My Arcade just sent us a press release featuring their newest products, and I have to say, they don’t make a ton of sense to me at their pricing, especially in a world where the Switch Lite and Nintendo Switch exist. Let’s take a look at the 2025 My Arcade New Namco and Capcom Products, and why I don’t think they make a lot of sense.

From the Press Release:
My Arcade®, the industry leader in retro gaming, is thrilled to launch Gamestation Retro, an officially-licensed collection that brings together iconic games from legendary publishers, Bandai Namco Entertainment Inc. and CAPCOM. The lineup includes three exciting products: Gamestation Retro Go, Gamestation Retro Pro and Gamestation Retro Mega. With this exciting new lineup scheduled for Q3 2025 availability, My Arcade continues its mission of bringing retro gaming to a modern audience.

The Gamestation Retro collection will deliver a unique retro gaming experience, seamlessly combining over 100 video games from these iconic brands into a single system. It will include famous titles such as PAC-MAN, GALAGA, POLE POSITION, DIG DUG in addition to Street Fighter II™, Mega Man™, Final Fight™, 1942™ and many more.

CES 2025 attendees will get an exclusive first look at the My Arcade booth.

My Thoughts:
Not to dog My Arcade, but I do not see them as a premium manufacturer as they claim. They make ok stuff but it is in no way a premium brand. That being said, getting Namco and Capcom on board is a nice feather in their cap. The thing is who are these for? And why would you buy these over a Switch Lite or a regular Nintendo Switch? I don’t think the controllers look great, the handheld looks huge, and the arcade cabinet doesn’t impress me. Again, I haven’t seen these but at these prices they are a hard pass for me.
